Beautiful book which includes the Devil with a limp drawing on the front end page depicting a smiling figure with goat's legs that wears a cape and a turban decorated with peacock's feathers and leans on a cane. Le diable boiteux (literally "the Devil with a limp") has been translated in English as The Devil upon Two Sticks. Pages have occasional foxing. Most images are clean. The interior front cover is cracked along the length of the spine. Once in the collection of Sir Thomas Glen-Coats, 1st Baronet, based on bookplate. French owner inscription to Glen-Coats inside (1896).
