First limited, numbered edition, this is #364 of 375 copies printed by Ernest R. Gee NY. Tissue-guarded frontispiece and one other engraving in lightly soiled salmon colored paper covered boards with paper printed spine and cover labels that are complete and legible. Backstrip and 1/2" of 3 gutter ends chipped, book tips bumped and rubbed w/cardboard showing, hinge papers fine, one address label on frt pastedn, 47pp deckle-edged text tight and bright without tears or soil. Book now fitted with a removable, clear mylar jacket. The Gloucester Foxhunting Club, the earliest organized hunt in America, was founded in 1766 by a number of Philadelphia Gents. The Club flourished for fifty-two years and was dissolved in 1818. Ernest R. Gee, knowing how rare the first printing of this book was, decided it was so important a work, he took it upon himself to republished this small run so that present-day sportsmen may have a record of the doings of their ancestors over one hundred years ago.
