Norquist, a University of Minnesota graduate, served as a medical corpsman in the Army until captured by the Japanese in the battle of Bataan in 1942. Surviving the 'death walk', he kept notes on his years in confinement and the life and community of his fellow prisoners, as well as their guards, in Cabanatuan, Omori Camp in Tokyo, and Wakasennin. Hardcover in jacket, as pictured.
