Frauenklinik nach Dresden berufen, seit 1925 wirkte er als o. Professor in Marburg. Bis zu seiner Emeritierung im 65.Lensjahr wirkte Kehrer als Direktor der Universitätsklinik in Marburg -cf. Fischer II, p.748; III, p.769.
