François-Annibal d'Estrée (1573 - 1670) fut marquis de Coeuvres, ambassadeur, à Turin et à Mantoue (1614), à Rome (1621), en Suisse (1626), maréchal de France, sous Louis XIII, en 1626, à la suite de sa belle défense de Mantoue; il prit Trèves en 1632; ambassadeur à Rome en 1636, il décida l'élection de Grégoire XV; il fit fonction de connétable au sacre de Louis XIV (1654). Il avait été fait chevalier du Saint-Esprit en 1632 et avait reçu un brevet de duc, en 1648; il fut fait pair en 1661; il avait exercé sur le gouvernement une grande influence pendant la Fronde. II a laissé des Mémoires sur la régence de Marie de Médicis (1610-1617), réimprimés dans les grandes collections de mémoires.
