The binding is rubbed and bumped and shows some spotting and soiling from handling. The spine is sunned. Prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown, which has a small piece of blue paper stu…ck near the gutter. Endpapers and text are quite toned. The bottom 2 1/2 inches of the gutter at the title page is torn. Pencilled notation on reverse of title page. Page 159 has a dark stain at the top of the gutter. Text is not affected. Contains several small text illustrations from photos as well as a large folding map of the Congo in color. Text is in French.
