Édition originale, envoi autographe signé de l'auteur à Alexandre Rodenbach (1786-1869), entrepreneur, politicien, écrivain, représentant du peuple, bourgmestre. Atteint de cécité dès sa jeunesse. Il dirigea la brasserie du même nom à partir de 1821. Écrivit des pétitions virulentes contre la politique de Guillaume I et en faveur de la liberté de la langue et de la presse. Mena en 1830 la révolution à Roulers et épaula ses frères Constantijn et Pedro à Bruxelles. Élu membre de l'Assemblée constitutionnelle, milita en tant que parlementaire pour le développement économique de la Flandre-Occidentale, la construction d'une voie ferrée et d'un canal à Roulers. Il jouit d'une renommée européenne pour ses ouvrages sur l'enseignement pour aveugles et sourds-muets. Polyglotte, auteur de divers poèmes et ouvrages, pianiste, et amateur d'art. Eugène Bochart, né à Ostende le 15 août 1819 et mort à Bruxelles le 5 mai 1877, est un cordonnier, homme politique et auteur de livres historiques. Devenu conseiller communal de la ville de Bruxelles, ses combats politiques peuvent se résumer en une continuelle série d'attaques contre l'uvre d'Anspach. En dehors de cela, quand l'établi lui en donnait le loisir, il fut un homme de lettres un peu compilateur mais attentif à l'histoire de sa ville d'adoption. Livres.
