This book was designed and edited by David Ross Brower (1912?2000), who was a prominent environmentalist, mountaineer and the founder of many environmental organizations as well as serving as the first Executive Director of the Sierra Club. Norman Gunther Dyhrenfurth (1918 - 2017) was a German-Swiss-American mountaineer and filmmaker. He was the leader of this successful American Mount Everest Expedition of 1963, which placed six climbers on the summit. Paperbound book features many color photographs & maps to enhance narrative. Paperback cover shows little use, small reading creases in sunburnt spine does not affect legibility of print on spine.
