Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Five issues of Pacific Rockets, the journal of the Pacific Rocket Society. Staple-bound in illustrated card wraps. The front cover of the Winter 1947 and rear cover of the Fall 1947 issues shows uneven toning; the front cover of the Spring 1948 issue shows a bit of soiling. Interiors are clean and unmarked. Each issue features several photographs showing activities of the Pacific Rocket Society. The issues are, give or take, about 15 pages each. The Fall 1949 issue includes Part II of the article ''The Challenge of the Spaceship'' by Arthur C. Clarke. The Pacific Rocket Society, established in southern California, was one of the first organizations in the United States to engage in amateur rocketry. The group did their research on rockets from a test site deep in the Mojave Desert. Issues: Vol. 2, No. 2 - Fall 1947. Vol. 2, No. 3 - Winter 1947-48. Vol. 2, No. 4 - Spring 1948.
