Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Forever Dark Memories: Poetised Traumas of A Polity of Parrotocracy is a poetry collection that embodies telling recollections and reflections on traumatic timeless political experiences conveniently labelled as 'dark developments' (better still, 'forever dark memories') in a society that professes and parades itself as being democratic, but is, obviously, very deeply rooted in persistent undemocratic practices and evident manifestations of parrotocracy. Thus, the system becomes frivolously inclined to the brutally animalistic tendency, humiliating and demonic political 'philosophy' pictured in George Orwell's Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than the others."Suffice it to say that this political reality is simply emblematic of systematically calculated attempts to maintain the satanic status quo which unduly favours the high and mighty to the detriment of the masses, whose welfare the system should cater to. And it is a very disturbing political reality.Further, it is pertinent to state here that it is a sister poetry collection to Memories in Full Colour, because of the decipherable harmonies in their tune, tone and tempo. One can observe their semblance in literalness, literariness and a lot of relatedness thematically. As a result, it is expected that they are to complement each other in helping to accomplish the dreams that gave birth to them, as we all hope and pray for a better society that is seriously rooted in democratic principles regardless of whose ox is gored.Meanwhile, I must also explain here that I have gone a little away from what is normal in trying to link these two books, which I regard as a set of poetic twins. In case you have not come in contact with the sister poetry collection, I have as well drawn an excerpt from its prefatory aspect to enable you to have a cursory feel of it, as I still hope that you will also hurriedly get yourself a copy of it. I welcome you as you journey along with me across these poetic pages. It promises to be an inspiring adventure. EZE ECHIE is from Ahai Ogbakiri in Emohua LGA, Rivers State, Nigeria. He is a scholar, prolific author, poet, editor, biographer, music minister, critic, and columnist. His published books include: Chei, Ogbakiri Weeh! A Great Lament, a story of native conflicts amongst his communities in southern Nigeria, Ezean Reflections for Nigerians, a collection of philosophical and motivational reflections, Lullabies of Love: An Anthology of Poems, and Records Management (co-authored), He recently won the third position at the SageAtWords poetry contest. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
