An unrecorded log detailing Frederic August Charles Wardenburg's 1953 big game safari, likely in East Africa. Wardenburg (18811966), a Kansas native and DuPont power plant engineer, pursued a passion for African expeditions later in life. This log documents his safari that took place from from December 26, 1953 to April 5th, 1954, and predates his published works, Operation Safari and Safari Encore. In one startling passage the author declares: "The Mau Mau is a secret society of the Kikuyis, the membership of which is kept secret. Its announced objective is to drive the white man out of Africa all of Africa eventually. To accomplish this, they have embarked on a reign of terror. Some or most of the murders referred to above have been accompanied by revolting savagery, some of the victims being literally hacked to pieces.
