Cette publication, tirée à un nombre restreint d'exemplaires, constitue un témoignage unique du travail des élèves de l'École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine, fondée en 1925 par Victor Tardieu et inspirée du modèle parisien. Sous la direction de F. de Fénis, professeur et collaborateur régulier de la revue, les élèves réalisèrent ce projet collectif associant dessins d'observation, croquis ethnographiques, notations musicales et textes manuscrits.
