Catalogue Edition Hazan, Musées de Strasbourg, 2001. In/4 (28 x 22 cm) broché, couverture illustrée en couleurs, illustrations couleurs, 159 pages.

120 pages, 144 color and b/w photographsâ"principally of African art and of art created by Leger. Mint condition. This catalogue for a wonderful exhibition at the Musee d'art et d'histoire de Geneve documents the influence African art hand on Leger. Using African art objects from the collection the Musee Barbier-Mueller juxtaposed with some of Leger's masterworks, the exhibit clearly demonstrates their close relationships. Excellent photographs and a text that also discusses the "discovery" of African art in France during the first 30 years of the 20th century.
