As the Commission is considering the nature of the Christian hope for the world,this will mean that we shall concern ourselves in these discussions, not with the Christian eschatology as a whole, but with the bearings of that eschatology on the life of the world, on the character of the Church's mission and message, and on the meaning and ultimate issues of history.
