Green cloth, an embossed bird's head on front board. The covers are rubbed and soiled, the titles on spine and front are almost impossible to see. Corners bumped, spine ends chipped. Pages are yellowing, light foxing to endpapers and half-title page. Serious foxing (offsetting) on pages 128 &129 where an old magazine article is laid in. (Another story by this author, titled "Berserk"). Owner's name and a small bookstore stamp inside front covers. But no tears or creases, no markings to text. Still quite readable. Collection of animal stories. This is the actual book from 1913, not a more recent copy.

The top of the pages is gilt and the front and spine (lovely wolf illustration on the blue board cover). The spine is very bent top and bottom with a bit of a hole about 2 inches from the base. The binding shows signs of age but is firm. This is a really nice book that shows age but it only adds to its charm.
