Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Poetry and prose by Mary Fabilli (1914-2011), who played an important role in the Bay Area literary community. Besides writing poetry, she also illustrated some works of Robert Duncan and William Everson. Fabilli has written a lengthy introduction to this collection. DETAILS: Octavo (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches; 215 x 138 mm), 108 pages, in illustrated, perfect-bound wrappers (soft cover). CONDITION: Sunning to spine and to wrapper extremities, some staining to fore edge. About Very Good overall.

A sound copy of the eye cover variant (1 of 4) of this important issue, epitomizing the avant-garde of its day. Neat period ownership signature and Berkeley address to inside cover, else unmarked with 1" closed tear to base of cover and minor wear. Not Signed.

This is number 64 and is SIGNED by both Duncan and the illustrator Mary Fabilli on the hand written colophon. In addition this copy has a full page holograph poem in Duncan's hand dated 1947, In further addition it is signed again by Duncan at the front after a short gift Inscription to a close friend and future Literary scholar! The poem at the rear is 26 lines in length and dated both 1946 (first part) and 1947. It seems to have a religious theme, but mentions both Christianity and Classical sources. Minor darkening to the end papers as is common. Lightly stained area on the front cover. Otherwise an attractive example with a great association and a full page poem!
