Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Fairley, Barker (illustrator). 8-1/2" x 6-1/4", 32pp. Printed in black and light blue ink on alkaline paper and saddle stitched with staples in printed textured card stock wrapper. The texture of the cover has picked up some soiling. Otherwise, light shelf wear, edge wear to cover, and a couple of small grease stains on the back. A bit of oxidation visible on the staples, however binding remains strong. Pages are clean and unmarked.

Barker Fairley, (1887-1986) was a British-born painter, writer, and German literature scholar, who spent almost all of his professional artistic life in Ontario, where he was also mentor and teacher to Charles Meanwell and Vincent Thomas. In his use of colour and form, the effect of the Group of Seven is quite evident. His critical approach and activism regarding The Group of Seven contributed to their acceptance in Canadian Art. Pristine, no wear. Clean, tight and strong binding with no underlining, highlighting or marginalia. Brown cloth with blind stamped gilt lettering to front board and spine. Size: Small folio. Book.
