Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Wraps. Slim 8vo.pp.8 folded four ways, concertina-fashion. Original publisher's wraps in ivory, lettered black with a dramatic illustration by Jim Fitzpatrick on the front cover. /Tara Telephone was a pioneering Dublin-based beat poetry and performance collective founded around 196…8 by poet Peter Fallon and drummer /writer Eamon Carr. As Ireland's only beat group, the collective toured extensively as a musical trio reading poetry to live, improvised folk and jazz. They published broadsheets and a renowned quarterly literary journal called Capella, a modest yet highly influential magazine featuring the work of local poets alongside contributions from international luminaries like Allen Ginsberg, John Lennon, and David Bowie. The Founders: Peter Fallon went on to establish The Gallery Press, while Eamon Carr co-founded the influential Celtic rock band Horslips. Celebrated artist Jim FitzPatrick produced wild, psychedelic poster-poems and striking cover art for the collective's publications. Very good indeed.
