He was a founder of the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo and was the director of the Bienal de São Paulo. Known for photography that expresses ambiguity between abstract and figurative and that explores the textures of daily life in Brazil. The photographs are divided by location into three sections; Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.

Slight edgewear to rubbed wrappers with light scraping to joints. Slight bumping and wear to wrapper forecorners resulted in tiny crease to front wrapper top forecorner. VG in wrappers.

Light wear and scraping to spine and edges of gently rubbed and slightly marked wrappers with faint, uneven discoloration to edges. Slight creasing along spine with small crease to fore edge of front wrapper. VG in wrappers.
