First Edition. The Best of Science Fiction, Crown, 1946,first edition, vg+ in vg-dust-wrapper with some shallow chipping to the dust-wrapper spine extremities. Along with ADVENTURES IN TIME AND SPACE, the first important science fiction anthology to be published after WW2. Contributions by Robert Heinlein (4 to be exact), Lewis Padgett, Clifford Simak, Ted Sturgeon, David Keller, Ralph Milne Farley, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, H. G. Wells, Donald Wandrei, A. E. Van Vogt, Murray Leinster, Isaac Asimov, Frank Belknap Long, Anthony Boucher, John Campbell, et.al. The Asimov contribution is noted with this inscription to one of his minor publisher's thus: "For David, this copy of The Best of Science Fiction containing my first story to be placed twixt cloth, BLIND ALLEY. Isaac Asimov.".
