Former owner's name on front free endpaper dated 1939. A novel about a British gentleman who is given a posting ito El Iswid "ten days south of Khartum". Dust jacket has some edge wear, some chips to corners, a mended tear to spine, a tear to front flap along fold. Some dust soiling. Not price clipped. Much improved by new plastic cover. Ecru coloured cloth on boards binding is clean, a wee bit of frayint to front side edge. Text is unmarked. . HC and DJ. Good/Fair.

Octavo, grey cloth, corners bumped, in fair dust wrapper (in protective cover, not price clipped, browned, some losses to spine extremities and rear), two trivial stains on the front end paperm, no front free end paper also no publisher's advertisements referred to in other copies, thus 4 pages unpaginated, pagination starts at page 9 to 381 then rear free end paper, there is no indication that any leaves have been excised.
