Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Fawkes, L G (illustrator). 42pp, engraved frontispiece and seven further plated engravings, all by the author's nephew, Lieut L G Fawkes RA. Blue buckram boards, with embossed decorations, gilt lettering and embellishments and bevelled edges. (Boards a little worn, rubbed at edges and rounded at corners and spine ends. Hint of tanning to first few pages only, occasional faint spotting, small circular library stamp on half title and last page. Engravings show period images of Farnley, Bolton Abbey, Lindley Bridge, The Strid, Linley Hall, Leathley Church, Leathley Mill and Peasants Nest, all local to Yorkshire. The Fawkes family have numerous collections; Guy Fawkes of gunpower plot fame was of their number, as was Walter Fawkes, the benevolent patron of J M W Turner.
