Chr.) erwähnt und dort auf einen Schüler des sagenumwobenen Daoismus-Gründers Laozi (6. Jahrhundert v. Chr.) zurückgef…ührt wird - lange in seiner Authentizität umstritten. Dabei wurde die Frage nach seiner Echtheit meistens anhand eines Vergleichs mit dem Huainanzi entschieden, einem philosophischen Werk aus der Frühen Han-Zeit, zu dem fast vier Fünftel des tradierten Wenzi Parallelen aufweisen. Das Manuskript des Wenzi , das in Dingxian zutage gefördert wurde und das aufgrund seines Schriftträgers das Bambus- Wenzi genannt wird, lässt nicht nur das Verhältnis zwischen dem tradierten Wenzi und dem Huainanzi in einem differenzierten Licht erscheinen, sodass pauschalen Urteilen die Grundlage entzogen wird, sondern gewährt auch viele Einblicke in die philosophischen Grundzüge des Wenzi , noch vor seiner großen redaktionellen Umarbeitung in die überlieferte Form. Diese Arbeit stellt den Versuch dar, ein möglichst umfassendes Bild der Philosophie des Bambus- Wenzi zu liefern, sowie Antworten auf die spannenden Fragen nach der Identität seiner Protagonisten, nach seinem argumentativen Aufbau und nach Zeit und Ort seiner Entstehung zu geben.; Dissertationsschrift.

Dabei hat dieses Werk eine glanzvolle Geschichte: während der Tang-Dynastie kanonisier…t, zählte es als eine der Pflichtlektüren für angehende Beamten zu Texten, die das öffentliche Leben im damaligen China massgeblich geprägt haben.Zweifel an der Authentizität des Wenzi, die zuerst während der Tang-Dynastie ausgesprochen wurden und die im Laufe der nachfolgenden Jahrhunderte mit immer stichhaltigeren Argumenten belegt wurden, haben schließlich dazu geführt, dass dieser Text immer stärker in Vergessenheit geriet.Der Textfund von Dingxian aus dem Jahre 1973, bei welchem u.a. auch Fragmente des ursprünglichen Wenzi gefunden wurden, bewirkte, dass Wenzi ins Zentrum des wissenschaftlichen Interesses rückte.Die vorliegende Arbeit hat sich nun zur Aufgabe gemacht, den Wenzi-Diskurs in seinen Etappen zu dokumentieren und vor dem Hintergrund des Textfundes von Dingxian Antworten auf die wichtigsten Fragen dieses Diskurses zu geben.
