"This 9.0 x 8.25 inch, unpaginated (32) page softcover book is the apparent 1943 printing of this book as noted on the last page of the text with the notation "M. Dechaux-1943," and with a 1936 copyright on the title page. This is the French publication of this title with the covers and text in French. This copy is in good condition with the card-stock wrappers showing edge wear and a bit of time smudging - - and with the fold for the wrappers now chipped and with tears at top and bottom - - and the staples have pulled thru the wrapper. The wrappers are still fully intact and they are not in danger of tearing all the way down the center fold. The interior text pages are much better with only a modest bit of corner wear to the top and bottom fore-edges but beyond that only a bit of age toning to the title page and last page of the book are really condition issues to mention. The illustrations for this title are striking with the soft color used for the full-page illustrations - - and then the margin illustrations for the printed page - - are all of note as influential of the subsequent direction and technique for the illustration of childrens? books. 32 pages.".…
