Binding is solid and square, with a couple of bumped corners. Edges show general soiling and light foxing, with a minor stain to head fore-corner. Mylar-sheathed dust jacket is merely acceptable, with several chunks missing, including front flap head, where price would have been marked; fold on rear spine nearly worn through. Former owner's name, and modest gift inscription, to ffep; author signature to half-title page; else unmarked. A nice collectible early Manfred, the Iowan who lived and worked in Minnesota for many years - including at Blue Mounds State Park in Rock County, in the southwest corner of the state, where his home became part of the park.
