Cloth. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. The 1929 1st American edition, translated from its original Russian of 1927 into English by A.S. Arthur and C. Ashleigh, and including the uncommon pictorial dustjacket. Solid and VG (very light rubbing and scuffing at the panels) in a bright, Good+ to VG- example of the fragile dustjacket, with a number of closed tears and a bit of loss along the spine ends and the flap-folds. The front panel cleanly separated from the rest of the jacket, though here skillfully reattached with an outer plastic protector (a piece of Demco, in this case), making the entire appearance quite attractive and holding the dustjacket together nicely. Octavo, one of the key dystopian works of fiction to come out of the scars of the Russian Revolution.
