Condition: Befriedigend. Halbleinen Seltene Originalausgabe der Abhandung von Ferdinand Artmann über die Ventilation in Gebäuden. Ferdinand Artmann wurde 1830 in Prag geboren. Er absolvierte die technische Militärakademie, die so genannte Genie-Akademie, und wurde Oberstleutnant und in der Folge Major im Geniestab. Artmann war eine äußerst vielseitig begabte Persönlichkeit. Er erbaute das Militärverpflegungsetablissement in Wien und die erste Konservenfabrik in der Gumpendorfer Kaserne (1902 demoliert). Außerdem plante er die Aspang- und Schneebergbahn sowie die Gürtellinie der Wiener Stadtbahn. Darüber hinaus erfand er eine Straßenlokomotive, einen Feldbackofen und vieles mehr. Artmann war aber auch als Pädagoge erfolgreich, indem er als Professor für Physik und Chemie an der Genie-Akademie in Klosterbruck bei Znaim, in Mähren, heute Znojmo in Tschechien, tätig war. Auch mit der Herausgabe von Fachliteratur über die Konservierung von Nahrungsmitteln sowie über die Bedeutung der Luftqualität machte er sich einen Namen. Als Anerkennung für seine Verdienste wurde Ferdinand Artmann Vizepräsident der Aspangbahn und erhielt die Goldene Medaille für Kunst und Wissenschaft. Er starb bereits mit 53 Jahren in Wien. Die Seiten sind mit Ausnahme der Titelseite nur wenig gebräunt, ansonsten sauber und gut. Die große lithographierte Falttafel am Ende hat einen kleinen Einriss, ist sonst gut.
