Paperback. Condition: Very Good. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. Pages are clean and unmarked with very light toning. No crease in the spine. Light soiling and a few darker marks on the exterior covers. The upper left corner of the back cover bumped and creased as are the upper right corners of the last 1/4 of pages in the book. There is a word I can't read (a name, perhaps) written on the spine of the book. The book will be bubble-wrapped and shipped in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit. Frontispiece present. Pages are clean and unmarked overall, with two pages (pp. 185 and 187) showing old tape reinforcement and a short tear to the lower corner of the contents page. No printing statement noted, consistent with early Grosset & Dunlap production and indicative of a probable first printing. Moderate shelf wear to edges with bumped corners; light fraying at spine crown and heel. An honest, well-preserved early example of this classic Dana Girls title. Collector's Note: By the Light of the Study Lamp is among the earlier Dana Girls mysteries issued by Grosset & Dunlap during the series' formative years.
