Nachdem W. im J. 1788 zu Bonn zum Dr. med. promovirt war; prakticirte er daselbst von 1789 bis 1794; dann docirte er als Professor an der dortigen Universität bis 1797; in diesem Jahre wurde er Professor der Chemie und materia medica an der neu errichteten Centralschule in Bonn; wo er bis 1804 blieb und war seitdem Professor der Chemie und Medicin in Marburg. Seine Veröffentlichungen; meist kleinerer Art; finden sich in verschiedenen Journalen; z. B. Crell's Annalen; Schweigger's Journal.
