"This volume gathers a series of artists that have been extremely important in the innovative process of the Galician sculpture that was previous to the Civil War in 1936, a process that i…s parallel to the avant-garde rebirth of the Os Novos generation in painting - our particular 1927 generation, which contrasts with the previous modernism - whose protagonists offer a moderate view from stylistic positions based on a tradition that rebels against the costumbrist topic and admits the interference of certain realities of the contemporary isms, mainly of the Expressionism and the figurative reviews of the Cubism." Vilar Lamelas. Numerous fine full-colour and b&w illustrations throughout. Photogravure and photocomposition by Sixpress Color. Introduction by Anton Castro. Bound in original green cloth with blind-embossed title to front board & bright silver lettering to spine, in publisher's unclipped pictorial dustjacket, red endpapers. Faint staining to lower portion of the cover (the pages are not affected internally at all, nor is the dustjacket), very slight shelfwear to dustjacket, otherwise a very nice clean tight solid hardcover copy. 413pp. Very heavy large oversize book - extra shipping will be required.
