Unique. 3 short invitation letters for Ms Helen Holbeche to visit and stay with the family at Canwell Hall, signed by either Mrs or Col Ferrars (as printed on card) Loftus all in original envelope c1870 and a thank you note from George Grant Gordon (Equerry to Prince and Princess Christian to Ms Helen Holbeche who sent them a copy of a booklet she had written entitled "A Little History of a Poor Deaf and Blind Girl". Quote: "The Princess will not fail to take an early opportunity of showing the book to the Queen", and then signed with full compliments by the above . on Frogmore House paper and in envelope with Frogmore blind stamp on the remains of the flap Dated July 9th 1871. In 1871 the family was living at Frogmore Cottage, New Windsor. George was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Scots Fusiliers and a Royal Equerry. He was Equerry and Controller of the Household to HH Prince and HRH Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein from 1866 - 1896.
