Text block in very good condition, with no marks or tears. A few pages appear to have been dog-eared but folded back into place. Tight binding, although adhesive can be seen along inner edges without pulling away. The cover is in very good condition with some barely noticeable indentations (perhaps as a result of going through printing press). XX This is a history of the American use of atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as told from a Cuban Communist viewpoint. The Cuban connection seems to begin in 1945 when an agreement was signed between the Cuban government and the American military to train bomber pilots in Cuba. From the description on the back cover: It is the beginning of 1945, in the month of January to be exact. The world panorama at this moment in history is well known by all; nevertheless, some of the facts that are revealed herein are entirely new. On a certain morning in January 1945, ten B-29 bombers belonging to the U.S. Air Force Mixed Group 509 were transferred to a naval base in Cuba known as Batista Fields. For what purpose? What were these bombers to be trained for? These and other questions are answered in this interesting book. The author, Alberto Ferrera Herrera, has undertaken a thorough investigation which has resulted in the publication of this fascinating book.
