Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This three volume set was issued in 1878, 1879, & 1882. Ex Southern Gas Board library with just their bookplate inside front cover and small number at the base of spine. Otherwise no stamps or other marks throughout the books. Bound in contemporary half green leather with cloth sides. Leather heavily rubbed and red titling labels rubbed. One plate repaired with no loss. Some foxing in places. Generally a very good set. This is the most important technical work ever produced on coal Gas and is a superb production the plates being very finely executed. Rare.
