Ellen Robena Field is best known for her Buttercup Gold stories, which brought her critical acclaim in the late 19th century. Lovely children's book with pen and ink vignettes and a photo-illustrated frontispiece. The previous owner was one on the illustrators - Marion Dawson Tennant. All of the 1910 copies show a dedication on the copyright page. That inscription reads - Illustrations by Katherine Parker Stewart, Marion Dawson Tennant and from photographs. Cover design by Marion Dawson Tennant. This copy is dated 1910 on the title page and 1910 on the copyright page. The dedication on the copyright page is simply - Illustrations by Katherine Parker Stewart, Marion Dawson Tennant and from photographs.A very handsome First Edition association copy.LOC SSS-FB-03.
