A striking mid-century Spanish graphic design booklet issued by Filograf, the imprint of Ricard Giralt-Miracle, produced as a Christmas greeting for 1957. The text comprises selected passages from the Holy Scriptures relating to the prophecies, conception, birth and infancy of Jesus (after the Nácar-Colunga translation), presented in a carefully considered graphic format. Combining devotional content with modernist design principles, the booklet reflects the work of one of the pioneering figures in twentieth-century Spanish graphic and typographic design, and stands as an appealing example of post-war European design ephemera. A very good booklet featuring printed covers and 16 printed text pages inside, glued into covers. Covers with light wear and mild toning to extremities. The text pages are bound to the covers via stitched rafia ties. The covers feature printed card with flaps which are wrapped and fixed to printed paper inners. The inside front flap bears a signature of Ricard Giralt-Miracle (likely printed facsimile). Text is bright and clean throughout. Printed on a high quality paper stock. Text in Spanish. Covers + 16pp text, illustrated throughout. Dimensions: approx 215mm high x 120mm wide x 3mm deep. Weight: approx 48g (unpacked).
