The author was born Nora Brooks, in 1939 she moved to Jasper to teach school. She never left. She wrote for the Jasper Totem. She recalls local musicians and skiers. She mentions local landmarks like Roche Miette and Valley of the Crooked Trees. She also recalls Hallowe'en pranks involving outhouses and the Hard Time Party. There are photos of both of those. Clearly there had to be a few bits on mountains, climbing and outfitters. 133 pages. Cond : Paper wrapper is white with black lettering. Front cover illustration by Sandy Robinson features a trapper, a mountain, and a log cabin - perhaps 1902. Volume is tight, bright, square, and clean. Minimal wear, no names, no tears.Excellent Alberta mountain nostalgia ! ! Quote (p. 82) : " In the fall of the year, Henry House Flats was where we drove after dark to listen to the bugling of the elk. The elk were much more modest in those days and did all their mating after dark outside of town. They were a different breed than ._._._. ." Size: 8vo.
