Altkolorierter Kupferstich nach G. Edwards aus "Sammlung verschiedener ausländischer und seltener Vögel", hrsg. von J. M. Seligmann, Tafel 45, 9.Teil. 26,2 x 20,7. Nissen, 857. - Gut erhaltenes Blatt mit Rand; kaum sichtbare, alte Knickfalte. - Die von Hand aufgetragene Kolorierung changiert von zart bis leuchtend und wird der Beschreibung in dem Titel vollends gerecht: "Sammlung verschiedener ausländischer und seltener Vögel: worinnen ein jeder dererselben nicht nur auf das genaueste beschrieben, sondern auch in einer richtigen und sauber illuminirten Abbildung vorgestellet wird, ausgefertiget und herausgegeben von Joh. Michael Seligmann (nach Catesby und Edwards übersetzt von Georg Leonhard Huth)." Die Sammlung ist zwischen 1749 und 1776 in 9 Teilen und 5 Bänden in Nürnberg veröffentlicht worden und somit fast gleichzeitig mit den originalen Ausgaben von Mark Catesby und von George Edwards erschienen. In diesen wurden u.a. noch unentdeckte Vogelarten in ihrem natürlichen Umfeld abgebildet. Edwards hat, um eine natürliche Art der Darstellung zu erreichen, nach dem lebenden Vogel gezeichnet.
