Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. A first printing of the UK hardback - in a protected jacket that is unclipped. With such a wonderful subject you would think that Simon & Schuster would have printed this on a decent paper! Like all copies this has a tanned text block. Despite this it is a wonderful a…ccount of a profoundly important subject.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Limited Edition. One of 500 copies signed by Darrell Schweitzer, but it has no individual number. Also, the front endpapers are a little bit grubby. Apart from these tiny faults this is a clean and tight hardback limited edition. The author signature is on a special insert sheet. This book looks…to be unread and new. Signed by Author.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. A captivating and original book; this manages to balance a vivid account of a great artist and the larger picture of his time and place. This is a clean and tight first printing and it has a contemporary review loosely enclosed. There is a neat forme…r owner's signature on the front end paper, and an attractive blind stamp, but this hardly distracts. The jacket is unclipped and with no damage beyond a little ageing.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A first printing of the first edition of the UK hardback. Tight and secure binding, with the wonderful full colour cloth eyeball peering through the jacket hole. The featured character responsible for the peeping is extended around the back of the co…ver boards and it's well worth looking at. The jacket is not torn or loose, but there are a few minor 'near wrinkles' which are hard to see. This is not an 'As New' copy but it does look unread. With such a large volume - all 742 pages of it - the signs of usage are usually obvious. No former owner names, not ex library. This has no serious 'lean' or looseness, no bumped corners. There is a bit of shelf dust on the top of the text block and that's why I rate this as Very Good but it is also close to being Near Fine. A successful novel with some great set pieces in it. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. SIGNED First UK edition-first printing(10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 21).Black hardback cloth binding gilt titling with fine Jacket unclipped. First edition. The acclaim that greeted Johnston's earlier Body Politic, which won the Crime Writers' Association Award for best f…irst crime novel, was accompanied by a fierce debate: Was this a crime novel or a science fiction novel? Similar argument is likely to surround this equally accomplished follow-up, set in 21st-century Edinburgh. But although the trappings may be futuristic, they're not excessively so--this is essentially the hard- boiled Scotland we're familiar with from writers such as Ian Rankin. Johnston again has a flinty satiric edge in his tale of grisly murder. In his oppressive, crime-free independent city state, run by a council of city guardians, a series of murders is upsetting the rigidly regulated status quo. The victims have music tapes planted inside their bodies: and Johnston quickly has his anti- establishment private eye hero Quintilian Dalrymple in the thick of things, struggling with low-life and official corruption (accompanied by his Watson, Davie). When the trail runs cold, Dalrymple finds that the mysterious Bone Yard is the key to the mutilations. All he has to do is figure out what it is. Johnston fills in the fascinating background of his sinister society with seamless skill. Language: eng. Signed by Author.
