This edition of Sport Magazine features a photo of Yogi Berra on the cover and includes a special in-depth article on the player written by the magazine editor, Ed Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald would later co-author Berra's 1961 autobiography, Yogi: The Autobiography of a Baseball Player. The magazine article looks to change the narrative around Berra's intelligence, arguing that Berra "is far from the semi-illiterate some writers have made him out to be." Berra played eighteen of his nineteen professional seasons with the New York Yankees, winning the American League Most Valuable Player Award a record-tying three times and earning a spot on eighteen All-Star teams. Innumerable well-known sayings have been attributed to Berra, including "It ain't over til it's over" and "It's like deja vu all over again.". Signed.

Text pages are in excellent cosmetic condition: all bright, sharp, crisp, and clean. Binding is tight and firm. Hinges are smooth and intact. Dustjacket is in archival mylar. It has also been kept in attractive condition, with minor wear to ends of gutters and spine ends. Back DJ cover has mild rubbing. Overall a most attractive copy.

This copy has some light browning/soil to the edges of the text block, a light bump to the a board edge, the name of a previous owner neatly to the FFEP, Yankees of 61 noted on the rear end paper, some moderate reading wear. The priced jacket has some light soil, some lightish chipping to the top and heel of the spine, a light crease to the top edge of the rear panel. This copy has been signed twice by Yogi who has added a generic inscription to the ffep. This copy has also been signed by Bob Turley, John Sain, Gus Mauch, Bill Short, Jim Pisoni, Joe DeMaestri, John James, Jack Reed, Luis Arroyo, Bill Moose Skowron, Bill Stafford, Ryne Duren, Tony Kubek, Deron Johnson, Roland Shelson and one other member of the 61 Yankees, Ted Wicand(?).
