Spine browned, bumped at head/foot, with two small, light stains. Owner's initials on front free endpaper. Damp stains on top corner and fore-edge of rear board, affecting rearmost pages. Add to basketA good copy of the First Edition in original publishers cloth blocked in gilt to the spine and front board as "Lewis Fitzhamon" but correctly to the title page as author of "The Rival Millionaires" [his only other novel] He began in Music Hall but was more successful as a film maker, often working with Cecil Hepworth & Robert W.… Paul. His best known film probably being "Rescued by Rover"1905 but he directed around 400 films including comedies, westerns, melodrama's fantasy and chase films, many of them including the wonderful "The Fatal Sneeze" 1905 can be watched on Youtube. Both novels are scarce see the BFI's Screenonline.
