The author posits that education is a right for all, and that the benefits of access to intellectual and academic enrichment should not be limited to those in white-collar positions. The author also emphasizes the value of skilled labor to the nation's economy, and stresses that it is in the best interest of employers and society as a whole to ensure the education and wellbeing of the working class. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book analyzes the issues surrounding the need for a traveling library system to support the isolated and largely transient populations of miners and lumber workers in Ontario. The author stresses the need for these individuals to have the same access to libraries as those in towns and cities and discusses the various methods that could be used to create a system that works within the parameters of the seasonal work and lack of permanent addresses for these workers. The author also discusses the role of education in the lives of these workers, arguing that literacy is key to their social and economic advancement. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the labour history of Ontario, the history of libraries, adult literacy or the social and economic challenges faced by seasonal workers. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book discusses the importance of free education for all members of society, including the working class, lumberjacks, and miners. The author highlights the unfairness of having a system that only allows the wealthy to receive an education. They argue that this inequality creates a divide in society and prevents the working class from reaching their full potential. The author proposes several solutions to this problem, including the establishment of public libraries and the provision of free education for all children. They also discuss the importance of creating a culture of reading and learning in order to improve the lives of the working class.
