Cid Corman was the editor and publisher of the seminal journal Origin and his press that produced Origin books which were often associated as well with James Weil and The Elizabeth Pres…s in New Rochelle, New York. Cid always read his books with a pen in hand and with an eye as poet and editor. He would annotate often books and his reading either briefly with comments and marginalia or extensively, depending on the book, the subject, and even Cid's personal attachment to a given author, subject or even book. In many cases, Cid could have been involved with a particular author or even the publisher, and his many comments would adjust to that situation. In any case, with all books from Cid Corman's library, they were active and circulating. One of the many small press journals in Cid Corman's library. Cid was often personally attached to particular journal as either a visiting editor or just various editors were more than curious about Cid Corman's sense of things and would share their journals with him. Fine wraps. Lightly touched on by Cid in his reading.

"L'originaria contesa tra l'arco e la vita". Sin dal titolo, l'ultima opera narrativa di Flavio Ermini fa cenno a una riflessione di Eraclito: "Nome del…l'arco è vita, opera ne è la morte", ponendo così due questioni preliminari: il nome dell'arco (biós) dice solo un aspetto della cosa nominata: la vita (bios), anche se tale aspetto non è meno reale dell'altro, che coincide con l'"opera" dell'arco, ovvero la "morte"; non è possibile negare che una stessa cosa, l'arco (biós), sia in pari tempo vita (bios) e morte. Con "L'originaria contesa tra l'arco e la vita", Ermini chiama il lettore a muovere alcuni passi nella terra mattinale: dov'è l'originaria contraddittorietà delle cose. In quale modo? Affidandosi a un dire puramente rivelativo; un dire che vuole coincidere con il principio, per coglierne l'inesausta potenza e la promessa sempre rinnovata di avvenire che custodisce in sé. Nel farsi della narrazione si manifestano creature di cui l'essere umano non sa nulla. Figure che pensano in una lingua che non hanno ancora pensato: la sorella del sonno, il padre divenuto cieco, il nemico mortale, i caduti, i guardiani della sfera, i discenti. Le loro vicende non avvengono mai, ma sono sempre. Hanno luogo nel possibile che costantemente si ripete: la custodia terrena del cielo, il giardino conteso, la torre dell'antivita, l'ingannevole terraferma, lo zoo di pietra, lo spazio inerte del mare, la terra rovesciata.
