Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Der Psychiater Paul Emil Flechsig (1847 - 1929) gehörte zu den originellsten Hirnforschern seiner Zeit und ist einer der Väter der Neuroanatomie. Er studierte und wirkte in Leipzig seit 1877 war er Professor am neu gegründeten Lehrstuhl…für Psychiatrie, von 1884 bis 1921 Ordinarius für Psychiatrie. 1883 gründete er das Hirnanatomische Laboratorium , das in den 1970er Jahren in das Paul-Flechsig-Institut überging. Nach ihm ist auch eine im Rückenmark liegende Nervenbahn 'Flechsigsches Bündel' benannt. Bei seiner Antrittsrede als Rektor der Universität Leipzig 1894 sprach Flechsig über Gehirn und Seele und betonte, dass die Seele lediglich aus der Hirnanatomie und -physiologie heraus verstanden werden könne. Das löste damals einen Skandal aus.
