Daniel, whose biography and image are in the te…xt, was an important activist and librarian, and the first African-American member of the American Association of Law Libraries. In 1971, Howard University's law library was renamed the Allen Mercer Daniel Law Library. Further reading on Daniel reveals an engaged and accomplished activist and scholar.
