Written in the style of classical Greek and Roman pastorals, the author employs the familiar trope of comparing the life of shepherds to that of fishermen. His objective, however, is to praise the life of shepherds, and this book is a celebration of their rustic existence. Through beautiful, lyrical verse, the author explores the lives of shepherd-fishermen and delves into themes of love, loss, piety, and the challenges of daily life, including the harsh treatment of the fishermen by their social superiors. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
