Hard Cover. Condition: VG. No Additional Printings Noted. Octavo. Brown cloth covered boards and spine with shiny gilt lettering on the spine. Book has a light bumping at the head and tail of the spine with light accompanying rubbing in the same places. Light rubbing at the very tips of the four outside corners. White endpapers.… Previous owner's name written on the front endpaper in black pen. Binding is straight and tight. Previous owner has highlighted passages on 19 of the book's 290 pages, in the chapter focused on Olaudah Equiano and one of the appendices. Pages are otherwise all clean and crisp, but have darkened to a cream color over time. 290 pages. This book came from the collection of Wilfred D. Samuels, who was Associate Professor of English and Ethnic Studies and the former Director of the African American Studies program at the University of Utah. Not terribly common.
