Oblong 8vo., approx. 32 leaves, 16 screen printed wallpaper samples printed to verso only, with 16 facing b&w photos printed to recto only. Quarter black cloth, glazed blue, yellow, and white striped paper with title information printed in black. Very Good with a little wear to foot, corners slightly bumped, edges show minor foxing. Slipped in is a typed announcement from a local wallpaper dealer dated 1957. A selection of new wallpapers, samples are bound facing b/w photos that picture that same wallpaper installed in a room design. This line of stain-resistant, lacquer-coated wallpaper was part of the Folkwang collection that resulted from a collaboration between the Folkwang school and German firm P. & S. International, founded by Ernest Pickhardt and brothers Adolf and Rudolf Siebert in 1879. The P. & S. firm restarted wallpaper production after WWII with antiquated equipment, but within a few short years was making very hip, modern designs such as these.
