This theater program for the Peck and Fursman's Dramatic Company's performance of "On the Trail; or, Dan'l Boone, the Pioneer" contains a biographical sketch of Daniel Boone titled "A True History of the Illustrious Daniel Boone, the Famous Patriotic Pioneer of Kentucky." According to the program, "This Biographical Sketch of Daniel Boone is strictly authentic, and was specially written for this little Souvenir by Colonel John Jerome Foster, who consulted, and made liberal use of, such eminent authors upon the subject as Peck, Abbott, Audubon, Hartly, McClung, Gallagher, Howe, Perkins, Brown, and others. It is accurate enough to be useful to scholars and students of history generally." Contemporary newspaper accounts of this dramatic production span the years 1888-1890; this program states "Now on its third annual tour. Re-written! Vastly improved! Now perfect!" The condition of the program is VERY GOOD. Only four copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. EXCEEDINGLY RARE.
