Covers a little rubbed on extreme edges and corners' the internally the occasional creased corner; a small piece of Sellotape taped onto the copyright page, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Historian Michael Whitfield Foster examined the family records, particularly marriage records, held by the GRO for the latter part of the 19th century, and in doing so exposes thousands of errors - or at least disparities - between the GRO records and the other publicly available information. Hard to find title.

The author then compared the records held at the GRO that people request relating to Family History and compared the information with original marriage registers held locally. He found a high percentage of differences between the two sets of records. Hence the books title. 177 pages.
