Published by Order of the Governors and Committee of the Medical School. The Museum was founded in 1835 to maintain the collection of prpartaions of early Lectureres including Dr. Charles Bell and Dr. Sweatman who held the chair of Midwifery. This catalogue includes the work of A Special Committee to draw up regulations for the preservation of specimens and preparations and augmentation of the collection. Curators were appointed and the work of the Museum unfolded. In 1880 the offices of Curator and Pathologist were conbined, a committee was appointed to create the first catalogue which revised and reorganized into a uniform plan with new descriptions for over 800 specimens. Original descriptions have been inserted and cross referenced etc etc.
